Xscape member Tiny Harris is speaking out about the time that The Notorious B.I.G. dissed Xscape on his 1994 single, “Just Playing (Dreams).”
In the song’s second verse, the late rapper said, “I’ll f–k RuPaul before I f–k them ugly-ass Xscape bitches,” which led to some embarrassment for the group.
However, Tiny says that Biggie walked back his mean remarks not long before his untimely death.
“Somebody came…I don’t know if it was Diddy…somebody came and said Biggie wanna speak to y’all,” says Tiny. “I was just like, ‘I’m going to see what he’s talking about.’ And you know, he was very nice, he was very apologetic and he basically said, ‘I don’t know what I was thinking. Look, I’m ugly. I’m ugly as hell. Y’all is beautiful, and I just wanted to say I apologize.'”
Tiny said the apology came just minutes before he was fatally shot on March 9, 1997, in a drive-by shooting following a Soul Train Awards afterparty in Los Angeles.
The rapper, who was 34 years old at the time, was hit four times and was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
