Tina Campbell made an emotional appearance at California Worship Center on Sunday, speaking publicly for the first time since reports emerged that she and husband Teddie Campbell had separated.
According to Jubilee Cast, the Mary Mary singer did not directly address divorce, but she referenced the period since summer 2024 and shared the Bible verse that has carried her through.
“Since the summer of 2024, the Lord has had me in Isaiah 50:7,” Campbell told the congregation. She then recited the passage: “For the Lord God shall help me, I will not be disgraced… therefore have I set my face like flint, and I know I will not be put to shame.”
Campbell kept her remarks brief and did not discuss details of her relationship. Instead, she spoke about relying on faith during a difficult season and standing firm in the face of public scrutiny.
After she finished speaking, sister Erica Campbell joined her alongside the church’s praise team. The service soon turned into an impromptu worship celebration, with members of the congregation dancing and singing.
Campbell is one half of the Grammy-winning gospel duo Mary Mary.
She also addressed the split in an Instagram post. Her supporters have continued to send messages of encouragement.
