Tiger Woods is headed back to court today, where he is expected to change his plea in the DUI case stemming from his March rollover crash in Florida.
The golf legend, 50, previously pleaded not guilty after being charged with misdemeanor driving under the influence with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test. Woods waived his arraignment and requested a jury trial, according to court records.
Authorities said Woods “showed signs of impairment” after the crash on Jupiter Island and “refused a urinalysis test.”
A police report said two pills later identified as hydrocodone were found in his pocket, but the golfer denied drinking alcohol or using illegal substances and told investigators he had taken “a few” prescription medications.
Following his arrest, Woods publicly acknowledged “the seriousness of the situation” and announced he was stepping away.
“I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health,” he wrote on X at the time. “This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery.”
Woods later entered rehab in Switzerland, where he spent nearly three months before leaving in June.
