In the season two premiere of Bravo reality series “The Valley,” Brittany Cartwright opened up about a scary encounter with her ex-husband, Jax Taylor.
The couple separated and agreed to see other people, but then Brittany said that she and Jax were trying to reconcile. However, after going through her text messages, he discovered that she had still been hooking up with his friend, Julian.
“I come home and he is on my iPad,” Brittany told castmate Michelle Saniei. “He went through and read them all. I sent a sexy video and Jax saw it. I mean, we were separated, whatever. He flips the coffee table and it hit my knee. It turns black immediately.”
Both Brittany and Jax revealed that their young son, Cruz, was in the next room.
“I’m like, ‘Oh my God! Oh my God!’ Screaming, crying. It was terrifying. ‘You’re cheating on me! You’re cheating on me! You’re still talking to him!'” Jax said.
Both Brittany and Jax had been hooking up with other people at the time, but Jax says he was particularly hurt because Julian was a close friend.
Other cast members sympathized with Jax but made it clear that they did not condone his violent outburst.
“I don’t have an answer for you, what I did was wrong,” he told producers in a confessional. “I lost all control. I saw red. I had an out-of-body experience. But show me a guy who wouldn’t handle the situation the way I handled it.”
The Valley airs on Tuesday at 9/8c on Bravo and is available to stream on Peacock the next day.
