Teddi Mellencamp has said very little about her divorce from Edwin Arroyave even after it was alleged that she cheated on him with her horse trainer.
“My response was gonna be like, ‘I’m not paid to be on a television show to do that anymore,’” she told Us Weekly. “Erika was like, ‘You can’t say that. You’re in the public eye.’”
She added, “My response is to listen to the latest podcast of ‘Diamonds in the Rough’ and then you’re gonna hear as much as you probably need to hear or want to hear. I’m just not gonna share [much more], like, kids are involved.”
Teddi, the daughter of singer John Mellencamp, and Arroyave tied the knot in 2011 and share three children, Slate, 12, Cruz, 10, and Dove, 4. Teddi is also stepmom to Arroyave’s daughter Isabella, 15.
She announced their separation via a statement on Instagram.
“After a great deal of care and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce,” Teddi wrote in an Instagram post. “My priority is my children and ensuring that every care is taken with their privacy and wellbeing throughout this new chapter.”
Former Orange County Housewife Kelly Dodd has been vocal about the split, claiming Teddi was unfaithful to Edwin.
