Teddi Mellencamp says Garcelle Beauvais is responsible for the breakdown of her once-tight friendship with Sutton Stracke. Reacting to the season 15 premiere of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills on her podcast with Tamra Judge, Two Ts in a Pod, Teddi said she was stunned by how the relationship unraveled.
“There was a lot of loss for Sutton in one year. Because I forgot that her and Garcelle were like actually best friends,” Teddi said. When Tamra asked who was at fault, Teddi replied without hesitation, “Garcelle. Garcelle just stopped talking to her.”
Tamra noted Sutton’s emotional reaction on the show and suggested Garcelle “was upset about something really big” before adding, “Or they were just TV friends.”
Garcelle, 59, left RHOBH earlier this year to focus on her acting career. A source close to production said at the time that she wanted to prioritize new film and television opportunities but Garcelle has also called out Sutton for not having her back during the reunion.
Teddi told listeners she still found it confusing that Garcelle’s exit from the franchise coincided with her exit from Sutton’s life. “Why does she have to take Sutton out of it?” she asked.
The hosts also raised eyebrows at Garcelle’s invitation to Sutton’s former assistant, Avi Gabay, to her movie premiere. Tamra called the move “shady,” while Teddi admitted she was shocked, saying the choice only deepened the mystery around Garcelle’s decision to cut ties. Sutton has not revealed what led her to fire Avi.
