The family of Tay Keith is asking for privacy and prayers as they mourn the Grammy-nominated producer, who died at 29.

In a statement shared Friday night by his record label, Drumatized, Keith’s relatives confirmed his death and remembered him as a “beloved son, brother, uncle, family member and friend.”

“While the world knew him as Tay Keith, his family knew him as BryTavious, a source of love, strength, laughter, and guidance,” the statement read.

Keith, whose birth name was BryTavious Chambers, was found dead on Thursday, June 18, at an apartment in Nashville during a welfare check. The Metro Nashville Police Department said investigators do not suspect foul play.

His family also called him a “visionary” and a “cultural force,” honoring the impact of his work in music.

“From Memphis to the global stage, he shaped countless hit records and left a lasting mark on music and culture,” the statement read.

The Memphis-born producer worked with Travis Scott, Drake, Moneybagg Yo, and many others. He earned a Grammy nomination in 2019 for his work on Travis Scott’s “Sicko Mode.”

Keith was also a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, which addressed his death in a video released Friday.

His family said plans for a memorial service will be announced at a later date.
