Andrew and Tristan Tate will remain behind bars in Florida after a federal judge denied their request for bail while they fight extradition to the United Kingdom.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Lauren Louis ruled Wednesday that the brothers had not shown they were unlikely to flee or pose a danger to the community.
“Respondents have failed to meet their burden to demonstrate that they do not present a risk of flight or danger to the community,” Louis wrote.

The Tates, who hold both U.S. and U.K. citizenship, were arrested in Miami in July after British prosecutors brought additional sex crime charges against them.
Their attorney, Joe McBride, blasted the decision.
“We profoundly disagree with Judge Louis’ decision to keep Andrew and Tristan in federal custody,” he said. “They have not been convicted of a crime. They have not been ordered extradited.”
Andrew, 39, and Tristan, 38, are facing dozens of charges in the U.K., including rape, sexual assault and sexual exploitation. Andrew also faces charges involving indecent images of children and extreme pornography. Both men have denied wrongdoing.

British prosecutors have argued the brothers could attempt to evade justice or interfere with witnesses if released.
The brothers are also facing criminal proceedings in Romania involving allegations of human trafficking and organized crime, which they have denied.
