Young Thug is currently on trial after being accused of racketeering, but T.I. believes Thugger will beat the case and return home.
“He’s coming home. I don’t think that the prosecution has successfully proven the case of him knowingly and willingly participating in an active street gang. I just don’t see it,” T.I. told The Breakfast Club hosts.
“I don’t think that the witnesses that they’ve called thus far have proven what they’ve said that they would prove. I just don’t think that the grounds of that case have been presented properly. I just ain’t seen it.”
The Atlanta promised to take care of Thug once he is released from behing bars.
“Don’t worry, we’re gonna get him right, we’re gonna take care of him,” he said. “He’s gonna be just fine. It’s already in the bag. All he gotta do is touch down.”
Defense attorneys E. Jay Abt, Douglas Weinstein, and Katie A. Hingerty asked Judge Ural Glanville to streamline the number of state witnesses called in the Young Thug RICO trial…otherwise, the trial could drag on until 2027.
“The state, after originally proposing a witness list of over 700 witnesses, has a list of over 400 witnesses it intends to present at trial. To date, the State has presented approximately 40 witnesses since presentation of witnesses began at the end of November. At the present, representative rate, it will take until approximately October 2026 to complete the presentation of State’s witnesses,” the motion read via Law & Crime. “Thus, the present trial will take well into at least mid-2027 to complete.”
