T.I. is the latest celebrity to speak on the viral Sesame Place video showing the Rosita character ignoring several Black children.
“Time to activate the culture,” he wrote in a video.
Sesame Place issued an apology but denied their staff member ignored the Black kids.
“The performer portraying the Rosita character has confirmed that the ‘no’ hand gesture seen several times in the video was not directed to any specific person, rather it was a response to multiple requests from someone in the crowd who asked Rosita to hold their child for a photo which is not permitted,” their statement on Instagram reads.
In a second apology, Sesame Place said it would complete training for employees to deliver a more “inclusive, equitable and entertaining experience” to visitors.
Since the first viral video, several other videos showing the character ignoring Black children surfaced.
