A man from San Antonio has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of Texas rapper BTB Savage, real name Darrell Gentry, has been arrested.
Montrel Lenard Burly, 40, has been charged with the murder of BTB Savage, who was gunned down in a drive-by shooting last month. According to the police report, two men dressed in black had been witnessed pulling up to the rapper’s white Mercedes sedan and firing multiple shots into the vehicle. They then fled the scene in a black Subaru SUV.
Burly was arrested and released the day after the shooting following a traffic stop. Officers say he was pulled over in a black rented 2020 Subaru Outback and charged with possession of narcotics and released after the stop. The man has reportedly connected to Omar Richardson—a man killed by BTB Savage’s girlfriend during a failed home robbery attempt earlier this year.
Police are still searching for the second suspect.
