Suge Knight could become one of the most important witnesses in Keefe D’s upcoming trial over Tupac Shakur’s 1996 murder.
Suge is among nearly 200 potential witnesses named on an 11-page list filed by Nevada prosecutors ahead of the trial, which is expected to begin Aug. 10. The former Death Row Records executive was driving the BMW when Tupac was shot at a Las Vegas intersection on Sept. 7, 1996.
Tupac died six days later at age 25. Suge survived the attack.
Whether Suge will cooperate remains unclear. He is serving a 28-year prison sentence in California for a deadly 2015 hit-and-run and previously said he had no plans to testify.
“1000% I wouldn’t go,” Suge told TMZ in 2023. “I wouldn’t testify, none of that.”
The witness list also includes former Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman, Joe Lombardo, members of Tupac’s family and Yusuf Jah, who co-wrote Keffe D’s book, “Compton Street Legend.”
Court records show several requests have been filed to allow witnesses to appear remotely, including a former lead homicide detective who now lives outside Nevada.
Keefe D was arrested at his Henderson, Nev., home in September 2023. Prosecutors accuse him of organizing the shooting. He has pleaded not guilty.
