Will Smith has moved on from his infamous Oscar slap, but Stephen A. Smith is not ready to let it go and says the Hollywood actor still owes the Black community an explanation for slapping Chris Rock at the 2022 Academy Awards ceremony.
“I was thinking about Black folks everywhere, aspiring to be in this business…and something like that happens, and it was a blemish on all of us,” said Stephen A. Smith.
Stephen A. Smith says he still finds it hard to go to the movies to watch a Will Smith movie and explains why Will Smith still needs to sit down and talk to the Black community about why he slapped Chris Rock.

“Because I know how much white America reveres Will Smith. And they’re thinking along the lines of, in my mind, ‘hell, if he did that, what would the rest of us do?’ That’s what I was thinking when I said what I said Friday about being torn.”
In a separate video, Stephen A. Smith says he received a call from Will Smith’s former bodyguard Charlie Mack, who he says reminded him of what Will Smith means to the community. He asked the commentator to go easy on him and show him some grace.
