Venita Aspen is pulling back the curtain on a rocky season of Southern Charm, opening up about where her friendship with Craig Conover went wrong and how the fallout nearly cost her more than just a relationship.
Appearing on the Not Skinny But Not Fat Podcast earlier this week, Venita said tensions escalated after she publicly defended Paige DeSorbo following her breakup with Craig.
“He literally was refusing to film with me,” Venita said, explaining that the situation felt threatening on a professional level. “That means I don’t have a job. That means I can’t hang out with my friends. That means I don’t have a platform to show up to. That’s just really mean.”
Craig later stated on Watch What Happens Live that he was no longer friends with Venita, a comment she said caught her off guard. Amid the drama, Venita found unexpected support from Summer House star Ciara Miller, who defended her on social media. “I think it helped people understand it on a different level,” Venita said. “I didn’t even know she was going to post.”
Venita admitted she tried to repair things privately but was shut out. “I tried to get one on one time with him,” she said. “He just wasn’t into it.”
Reflecting on Craig’s place in the group, Venita added, “Last year Andy asked who was afraid of Craig. We all raised our hands.”
