Soulja Boy is demanding a new trial after jury awarded his ex-girlfriend Kayla Myers close to $500k in the sexual assault trial against him.
The rapper wants the verdict be thrown out and to be given a new trial.
Kayla claims she had been dating the rapper on and off for years. But at the house party, she says while trying to leave she started fighting with Soulja’s female friend and was knocked to the ground. She then claims the rapper shockingly beat her with a large gun and punched her in the face. Later on, she claims the rapper tied her to a chair using an extension cord and that she was only released 6 hours later after being forced to perform a sex act on him for her freedom.
Soulja Boy denied all the allegations against him.
Soulja claims there was “irregularity in the proceedings of the court, jury or adverse party, or any order of the court or abuse of discretion by which either party was prevented from having a fair trial.”
He accuses the jury of misconduct and that there was insufficient evidence for the jury to reach their verdict in favor of Kayla.
