Soulja Boy Defends Method Man Over Summer Jam Performance

Lyndon Abioye |

After Method Man said he would not be returning to perform at Hot 97’s Summer Jam because the generational gap was too wide, Soulja defended his remarks to TMZ.

“I don’t think he mean that. He probably just in his feelings. He probably gon’ perform at a future event, you know what I’m saying? But shout out to him. People got different, I don’t know. That’s New York, though. Everybody supposed to know who he is,” Soulja told the news outlet.

“It don’t matter. That’s crazy. I didn’t know that. There probably was a lot of young people in the audience. Shout out to him. He’s definitely a legend, for sure. He entitled to respond however he feel like. It’s gon’ be all good.”

Meth commented on a video of the performance shared by Hot 97.

“Not our crowd at all,” he wrote in the comments section. “Thanks again, New York and the whole tri-state (that showed up to the event) plus Pete and Ebro. I got love for you guys, but never again.. at this point the generation gap is just too wide for me.. #nevercomingback”
