Snoop Dogg had a lot to say at the 2023 Milken Institute Global Conference, where he was invited to speak. Snoop told attendees that streaming platforms could be doing a lot better.
“[Streaming is] exciting but streaming gotta get their sh-t together,” Snoop said.
“Because I don’t understand how the f-ck you get paid off that sh-t. Can somebody explain to me how you can get a billion streams and not get a billion dollars? That sh-t don’t make sense to me. I don’t know who the f-ck running the steaming industry, whether you in here or not. But, n-gga you need to give us some information on how the f-ck to track this money down. Because one plus one ain’t adding up to two.”
Snoop Dogg was speaking on behalf of all artists making money off streaming which he says can be tricky for many artists.
“That’s the main gripe with a lot of us artists. We do major numbers with streams but it don’t add up to the money. Where the f-ck is the money?”
