Slim Thug claims that during the mixtape era, he made more money selling his mixtapes than any other rapper out.
“At a young age, as a teenager, when I first met Michael ‘5000’ Watts, he showed me that I can do something that I love to do. I’ve learned self-value from day one,” he said in the clip below.
He continued, “No n-gga underground made more money on mixtapes than me independently. Not them n-ggas [DJ] Drama and them either. They was giving they sh-t away. Our wholesale price was eight [dollars]. No n-gga was getting more money than us who did it that long. No n-gga did it as long as Slim … underground, getting paid off mixtapes. No n-gga, period.”
