Sasha Obama, the youngest daughter of Michelle and and Barack Obama is a single lady again, Media Take Out has learned. Sasha has reportedly split with her boyfriend, Clifton Powell Jr, son of actor Clifton Powell.
Media Take Out broke the news that Sasha – who is currently a senior at USC – was dating the handsome young man. It seemed serious at the time … but Sasha is just 21 years old, and so we shouldn’t have expected it to last.
One of Sasha’s friends explained how things ended, “It wasn’t anything big. It’s just that Sasha is working on herself, her studies, and her career.”
We’re told that Sasha and Clifton have remained friends, and are on good terms post-breakup.
Earlier this year, the Saints & Sinners actor said his son, Clifton Powell Jr., and Sasha have been in a relationship for more than a year.
“That’s amazing, ’cause you know that they’ve been going out for about a year, and it just hit the press, right?” he said during a recent radio interview.
The two allegedly became an official couple when Sasha moved to L.A. in August 2021, transferring from the University of Michigan to USC, based on reports, according to Hot 97.
Powell Jr. earned a four-year basketball scholarship to play for the University of California Santa Barbara but has now pivoted into pursuing a film career and works as a commercial director, The Cut reports.
