Simon Williams took to social media to reveal that he has rescinded sponsorship of her residency permit in Nigeria.
An affidavit was filed last week in the High Court of Justice of Kaduna State in Nigeria, informing the judge that he wishes to revoke his sponsorship as they are no longer married.
“It was brought to my attention by the Nigerian Government that she traveled to Nigeria in December 2024 using a document that had been issued to her during our marriage. I was advised that, given our legal divorce, I have a duty to withdraw the sponsorship associated with that document,” Simon told TMZ.
According to Simon, her was “disappointed” Porsha still flew to Lagos last year to celebrate the annual “Detty December” festivities. “As I stated in my recent Instagram Stories, she will not be welcomed back to Nigeria for the same celebrations this year — and this action is my way of honoring that promise.”
After word of his actions spread, Porsha took to her social media to announce that she had received at least offers for a Nigerian passport and sponsorship.
Porsha filed for divorce in February 2024 after 14 months of marriage, citing “complex” issues with his legal status.
Simon claimed that he was “blindsided” by the filing and claimed that he was targeted by Porsha for his money.
“I think I was targeted. I was targeted from day one for financial reasons. When I filed for divorce from my previous ex-wife [‘RHOA’ cast member Falynn Guobadia, Williams] was in my DM praying for me. I think I was in a vulnerable position at that time, and I entertained it. So it just kind of snowballed from there,” he told Page Six back in June.
“Getting engaged in 30 days … who does that? I was out of my goddamn mind to have done that. Of course, I’m paying dearly for it.”
