Shy Glizzy issued a statement on social media, denying allegations that he put a gun in his girlfriend’s face and threatened her.
“The accusations made against me are completely false,” Glizzy wrote via Instagram Story. “I would never in my life pull a weapon or harm a female in any way so stop with the BS allegations! What is wrong with ppl?”
The rapper, real name Marquis Amonte King, 30, was arrested after the couple got into an argument in public. Reports say the rapper grabbed a gun and threatened her on a public street. The rapper then left and his girlfriend reported him to the cops. Shy was later arrested at gunpoint that evening and was booked on a felony charge of making criminal threats. Glizzy was soon released on a $50,000 bond.

Shy Glizzy released his debut project, titled No Brain, in January of 2011. He released his second mixtape, Streets Hottest Youngin, on October 31. The following year, Shy Glizzy was listed by Complex as one of “15 Unsigned Rappers Who Should Get a Deal After SXSW”. His first studio album, Fully Loaded, was released in 2018 and reached no. 35 on the Billboard charts. He was nominated for a 2018 Grammy in the Best Rap/Sung Performance category for his song Crew (with GoldLink and Brent Faiyaz).
