Shia LaBeouf is drinking alcohol daily while serving probation for his Mardi Gras bar fight, according to new court records.
The 40-year-old actor made the disclosure while updating officials on his progress during a probation hearing on Wednesday. Documents reported by TMZ say LaBeouf “self-reported that he drinks alcohol daily” and declined mental-health treatment.
The admission follows his June guilty plea to misdemeanor battery charges stemming from a February 17 confrontation outside R Bar in New Orleans. Police said LaBeouf punched two men and head-butted a third during the incident.
His sentence included two years of probation along with alcohol-abuse rehabilitation, sensitivity training and anger-management classes.
Despite the daily drinking disclosure, LaBeouf told officials he is complying with the rest of his sentence. He submitted paperwork indicating he expects to complete anger-management training and substance-abuse treatment by next month.

The update comes months after LaBeouf publicly said he did not believe alcohol was his main issue.
“I don’t think I have a drinking problem,” he told Channel 5’s Andrew Callaghan in February. Instead, the controversial actor said, “I think I have a small man problem,” adding that he believed “anger and ego” played a larger role in his behavior.
His attorney previously said LaBeouf wanted “to take accountability for his part in what happened” and move forward with his family, career and creative projects.
His next court hearing is set for September 23.
