Paige Shiver is sharing her account of events following Sherrone Moore’s recent sentencing.
The former Michigan head coach was placed on 18 months’ probation and ordered to pay a $1,000 fine after pleading no contest to misdemeanor charges related to a December 2025 incident involving Shiver. While the court did not impose jail time, the judge made it clear the decision could change if Moore violates probation.
Speaking to Good Morning America, Shiver reflected on her experience.

“Here’s a man that had complete control over me,” she said, adding that the situation affected both her personal life and career.
She also described repeated efforts to separate herself, saying, “He always had a story… making me feel that I couldn’t leave him.”
Moore lost his coaching job shortly after the allegations surfaced. According to reports at the time, he was taken into custody after Shiver claimed he came to her home and threatened to harm himself.
The charges he ultimately faced were reduced as part of a plea deal.
Following the sentencing, Shiver’s attorneys issued a statement arguing the outcome “does not reflect the seriousness” of what occurred.
Moore has not addressed the interview publicly.
