Sherrone Moore appeared in court Thursday as his legal team pushed back against serious allegations tied to his arrest last month.
The former head coach of the Michigan Wolverines is facing multiple charges, including felony home invasion and stalking, stemming from a December 10 incident at a woman’s apartment in Ann Arbor.
During the hearing, Moore’s attorney, Ellen Michaels, filed a motion to dismiss the arrest warrant, insisting the case is built on faulty claims. “This warrant was issued based on false and misleading statements presented as facts,” Michaels told the court. “We’re confident the truth will come out in court under oath where it belongs.”
Sherrone Moore’s attorney: “Mr. Moore is innocent of these charges. … we filed a motion to quash the arrest warrant and dismiss the complaint.

Moore has pleaded not guilty to all charges. Prosecutors allege he entered the apartment after being fired by the University of Michigan, blamed the woman for his dismissal, and threatened to harm himself. Moore’s wife, Kelli, attended the hearing and stood beside him throughout the proceedings.
Authorities claim the woman, a former Michigan staffer, cooperated with a university investigation after ending a long-term relationship with Moore. Prosecutors have described Moore as a potential risk to public safety, something his defense strongly disputes.
The judge scheduled Moore’s next court appearance for Feb. 17. Moore maintains his innocence.
