Shamea Morton is not giving up her Real Housewives of Atlanta peach just because someone thinks she is too successful for the drama.
During a visit to V-103’s Big Tigger Morning Show, Shamea pushed back after Francesca Amiker told her she should leave the Bravo series. Amiker said her opinion came from respect for Shamea and their shared Atlanta roots.
“We both East Side girls, Decatur girls, Atlanta girls. I got a lot of respect for you,” she said, arguing that Shamea was “too successful to continue to be dragged by these girls.”
“She needs to get off the show,” Amiker added.
Shamea then asked Amiker whether she should have walked away from her radio job when she faced backlash from the public. After Amiker said she would not, Shamea responded, “Then why should I give up mine?”
Shamea shared that it remains beneficial to her because it lets viewers see different parts of her life, including her daughters and her career.

“I’m not liked on that platform by a lot of those people,” she said. “I’m loved by the people that really count.”
“I’m a real person, I am playing real life while these girls are playing TV, and I’m okay with that,” she later added.
Shamea first burst onto the scene when she got an early film break as a dancer in 2002’s Drumline and later appeared in movies including Ride Along 2, Acrimony and Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor, as well as TV shows such as Will Trent. She has also worked on Atlanta’s V-103, served as an in-game host for the Atlanta Hawks and previously cheered for both the Hawks and Falcons.
