Shailene Woodley Laughs Off Questions After Aaron Rodgers Details Their Failed Engagement

Shailene Woodley is not rushing to answer Aaron Rodgers.

Days after the NFL quarterback made new claims about their former engagement, Woodley was asked about his comments while leaving a pre-Emmys event in Los Angeles but she simply laughed and walked away.

Rodgers, 42, revisited their relationship during a recent appearance on Cam Heyward’s Not Just Football podcast, pushing back on the narrative surrounding their breakup.

“I date Shailene, I propose and she says yes,” Rodgers said, adding that she first told him that she first needed to “f*ck” another man. He then claimed Woodley later removed her engagement ring and told him she did not want to continue the relationship. “She literally told me, ‘I don’t want to be with you,’” he said.

Woodley, 34, did not address any of Rodgers’ specific allegations when approached on September 13.

The pair went public with their romance and engagement in February 2021. By February 2022, their engagement was over, followed by a brief attempt at reconciliation.

Woodley has spoken more broadly about the emotional toll of that time. She previously called the period “the darkest, hardest time in my life” and said the intense public attention around the relationship “just felt violating.”

In a 2024 interview, Woodley became emotional while discussing Rodgers and summed up the relationship in six words.

“It was not right,” she said. “But it was beautiful.”
