U.S sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson has seemingly responded to her arrest for fourth-degree domestic violence after she aggressively shoved her athlete boyfriend in a Seattle airport.
Richardson got into a heated argument with fellow athlete Christian Coleman, and she was caught on camera shoving Coleman multiple times as her walked away from her.
In the clip below, Richardson says she is currently doing a lot of “self-reflection” and says she is “holding myself accountable” and hoping that her hard work will reflect who she truly is.
“Above all else, for certain, a lot of self-reflection, a lot of consciousness of not only putting myself in a vulnerable situation with somebody who I care about and have a lot of respect for, is something that holding me accountable,” she said.
“I’m taking this time to not just look at myself but to get to a certain level of help that overall will correctly represent who I truly am in my heart and my spirit, and not allowing this time but welcoming this time to be more.”
Watch her open up in the video above.
“People have discussions and emotions and stuff like that,” Coleman said at the time. “Does she have things that she needs to work on for herself? Of course. But so do I. So do you. So does everybody. And I’m a type of guy, I’m in the business of extending grace and mercy and love. … I just look at situations like this to take a step back, analyze yourself mentally, and then just try to see what you could do to be your best self so that you can move forward.”
After the incident made headlines, Coleman spoke out in defense of Richardson.
