Sean Kingston & His Mother Facing Decades In Prison Over Wire Fraud Charges

Sean Kingston and his mother have been indicted this week in Miami federal court in connection with a $1 million wire fraud scheme.

Kingston has been charged with one count of organized scheme to defraud, four counts of criminal use of personal identification information, two counts of grand theft greater than $100,000, one count of grand theft greater than $20,000, and one count of fraud.

Kingston’s mother Janice Turner, was arrested the same day as Kingston after a SWAT team raided his Fort Lauderdale, Florida rental.

If convicted, both face up to 20 years in prison for each of the six charged counts.

Prosecutors allege they teamed up to scheme to “unjustly enriched themselves by falsely representing that they had executed bank wire or other monetary payment transfers.”

The singer is also being charged with violating his two-year probation period for trafficking stolen property. In February, Ver Ver Entertainment sued him for breach of contract and fraud for allegedly failing to pay for a 232-inch TV and premium sound system.
