Sean Combs, the legendary music mogul was arrested in Manhattan tonight, after a grand jury indicted him.
The charges in the indictment were a mix of s** trafficking and other charges in connection with a federal RICO. If convicted of all offenses, he’s facing more than 100 years in prison.
He’s expected to sit in prison until a bail hearing, which can be heard as early as tomorrow morning. Diddy is currently locked away in a federal jail in lower Manhattan, which is filled with some of the worst criminals in the world – including El Chapó.
It’s a dramatic fall for Diddy, who was once one of the most respected men in the world.
Mr. Combs’s legal team said they were disappointed with the decision to prosecute him and noted that he had been cooperative with the investigation and had “voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges.”
“Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man, and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, adoring his children, and working to uplift the Black community,” the statement said. “He is an imperfect person but he is not a criminal.”
Diddy is likely to spend the rest of his life in prison, given the charges. Federal prosecutors have a 97% conviction rate.
