Rapper Russ is claiming that he turned down a mega deal for his catalog.
He says the deal was worth $50 million.
“$50 million for the catalog, I turnt down (Facts) / I’m makin’ money every second, you should learn how,” he rapped on “Too Much.
The rapper then hopped on TikTok to explain further why he shunned the deal.
“They offered me $50,000,000 for my catalogue and I turned it down because my soul is not for sale,” he captioned a video posted on TikTok.
Back in October, Future reportedly sold his catalog from between $65-$75 million.
“I put everything into my music, and I wanted to make sure these were in good hands as I thought about the next chapter of these songs,” he said in a statement. “I’m proud to partner up with Rene and the team at Influence Media and send a signal that this music has timeless value. My music is my art, and these songs represent some of the most precious artwork of my career.”
