Rihanna was scheduled to have a HUGE star-studded baby shower this weekend in Los Angeles, but… not anymore. The Los Angeles Police Department has put a big kibosh on her plans after the arrest of her boyfriend and soon to be father of her child, A$AP Rocky.
The couple had been vacationing in Barbados, but flew back to LA to gear up for her baby shower. But as they exited their private jet, the police stormed A$AP Rocky and arrested him right in front of Rhianna and her family.
Media Take Out has learned that Rihanna is officially cancelling her baby shower this weekend – which was expected to have TONS of A-listers in attendance.
According to a person close to Rihanna, the billionaire pop star is “cancelling” the baby shower. It’s not clear whether she now plans for a scaled down baby shower, or whether she will forego having one altogether. The friend explained, “With all that’s going on, there won’t be one [a baby shower this weekend].
The friend also told Media Take Out that many “A-list” celebrities were expected to attend, but she didn’t specify exactly which celebrities planned on celebrating Rihanna’s first pregnancy with her.
A$AP Rocky is facing some pretty serious charges as well. Los Angeles police say that the rapper allegedly shot a man, a VERY serious crime under California law and he faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
