Rickey Smiley sent a message of support to Brian McKnight’s biological children after their father turned their backs on them.
“I want to let you know that you have a lot of support out here. If anyone gets this message out to Brian McKnight’s two sons and daughter: you are always welcome to the state of Alabama… where you have men and you have uncles and you have a lot of people that… take on kids that have been abandoned by fathers,” he said.
“You are not thrown away. You are not garbage. You are loved [and] you are to be respected,” he continued.
Last week, during his “Weekly Replies,” segment, McKnighta ddressed a post he shared on Instagram about his stepdaughter Julia McPhee, calling her his “one and only daughter.” McKnight is the father of 7. He has five biological children and two stepchildren with his wife Leilani McKnight.
In the comments section, he added, “In order to live a life that you love, you have to get rid of the evil and the negativity, even if that evil and negativity is related,” he said. “We want everyone to live a life that they love but in order to do that you have to get rid of that evil and negativity.”
McKnight has been canceled.
