Rick Ross’ son, William Roberts III, was allegedly threatened at gunpoint and struck in the head during a frightening encounter near his former college campus in Florida.

According to a police report, the incident occurred Oct. 11 in Daytona Beach, near Bethune-Cookman University, where Roberts previously played football. Roberts told officers he was standing on a sidewalk with a woman near McLeod Avenue and Weaver Street when a gray vehicle, described as either a BMW or Kia, pulled up.

The driver, identified in the report as Don Roberts II, allegedly pulled out a gun and threatened Roberts’ life.

“I don’t care who your daddy is, I’ll kill you right here,” the man allegedly said, according to the police report.

The confrontation reportedly turned physical when the suspect struck Roberts on the right side of his head with the firearm, leaving him with minor swelling.

Despite the alleged attack, Roberts declined medical attention.

Police later showed Roberts a photographic lineup, and he identified Don Roberts II as the man he said threatened and assaulted him.

Investigators also reviewed city surveillance footage but could not find video capturing the encounter.

Roberts, who appeared on Bethune-Cookman’s 2025 football roster, is no longer part of the university’s athletic program.

“Roberts was dismissed from the team prior to the 2026 season due to disciplinary reasons – he is no longer a member of the program,” a university spokesperson told Channel 9.
