The world was in shock this week after Jen Shah pleaded guilty to the wire fraud charges against her.
The Bravo star appeared before U.S. District Court Judge Sidney Stein in Manhattan and entered into an agreement with federal prosecutors.
Shah pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud. According to NBC News, Shah agreed to pay out $6.5 million and to pay restitution up to $9.5 million. She is still facing 14 years in prison.
“Ms. Shah is a good woman who crossed a line. She accepts full responsibility for her actions and deeply apologizes to all who have been harmed,” Shah’s attorney, Priya Chaudhry said in a statement. “Ms. Shah is also sorry for disappointing her husband, children, family, friends, and supporters.”
Last year, Shah and her assistant, Stuart Smith, pleaded not guilty to the charges. On the show, she told the Housewives that she was not guilty and was mad whenever they questioned her.
