‘RHOSLC’ Star Mary Cosby’s Family Speaks Out In Shocking Docuseries About Her Alleged “Cult”

Mary Cosby is poised to draw fresh attention as a new TLC docuseries turns its lens toward her life and the church she helps lead. The network has announced The Cult of the Real Housewife, a three-part event revisiting the questions and controversies surrounding the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star and Faith Temple Pentecostal Church.

TLC said the series will explore claims of spiritual and financial misconduct and will feature interviews with investigative reporters, online commentators, and several relatives who have had complicated ties to the church.

Faith Temple Pentecostal Church was founded in 1968 by Mary’s grandmother, Dr. Rosemary “Redmon” Cosby. After her passing, Mary became first lady and evangelist, working alongside Robert Cosby Sr., who serves as bishop. The series is expected to include footage and recordings of sermons from both Mary and Robert.

TLC revealed that viewers will hear accounts from Mary’s sister, Denise Jefferson Odinaka, as well as her cousin, Dan Cosby, and his wife, Kim. Their involvement suggests the project will explore long-standing family rifts and broader questions about the couple’s leadership.

Since joining RHOSLC in 2020, Mary has shared aspects of her personal life with Bravo audiences. She briefly stepped away during season 3 before returning in later seasons. A midseason trailer shows her inviting castmates to attend a service at Faith Temple.

Mary has repeatedly denied accusations that the church is a cult. In a 2021 interview with Entertainment Tonight, she called such claims “ridiculous” and said her congregation knows the truth. She also rejected allegations that she takes church money, insisting her members are responsible and that she would never misuse donations.

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo. The Cult of the Real Housewife debuts January 1 at 8 p.m. ET on TLC, with all episodes available the next day on HBO Max and discovery+.
