‘RHOP’s Karen Huger To Be Released From Prison Next Week

Tiffany Brockworth |

Karen Huger will reportedly be released early from prison after spending more than six months behind bars following her shocking drunk driving incident.

According to The Jasmine Brand, The Real Housewives of Potomac star, 62, will walk free on Sept. 2.

Karen is currently behind bars, serving a one-year prison sentence following her latest DUI conviction. In February 2025, she was handed a two-year term, with one year suspended, stemming from a March 2024 crash in Potomac, where she wrecked her Maserati.

The incident marked her fourth alcohol-related driving offense since 2006.

Before facing the judge, Karen sought help at a private recovery program in Florida and has remained active in Alcoholics Anonymous. She has since expressed deep remorse for her actions.

“Although we are disappointed in the jury’s verdict, we of course respect their decision and appreciate their time hearing our case,” her attorney A. Scott Bolden shared in a statement at the time of sentencing. “We continue to reserve Mrs. Huger’s right to an appeal and intend to fully pursue justice on her behalf. We appreciate your support and prayers for Mrs. Huger and her family at this time.”

Fans are now hoping that she will be allowed to film the upcoming season of the Bravo show.
