‘RHOP’s Karen Huger Reportedly Denied Work Release

Lyndon Abioye |

“Real Housewives of Potomac” star Karen Huger’s bid for work release has reportedly been denied.

The Washington Post reports that corrections officials approved the 61-year-old’s transfer to Montgomery County’s Pre-Release Center, but that Judge Terrence McGann denied the motion.

“She drew the wrong judge,” defense attorney David Moyse said in response to the decision. “It was just horrible luck.”

The Grande Dame is currently serving a one-year prison sentence following her fourth DUI conviction. In March 2024, Karen crashed her 2017 Maserati into a tree in Potomac. Shocking bodycam footage showed Karen slurring her words and refusing sobriety tests.

She was hit with several charges, including DUI, negligent driving, and failure to control speed.

The Grande Dame also had previous alcohol-related offenses in 2006, 2008, and 2010. Judge Terrence McGann sentenced her to two years in prison with one year suspended, five years of supervised probation, a $2,900 fine, and a one-year driving ban after she is released.

Karen has received some good news, as she is expected to be released by November with good behavior.
