Ashley Darby is opening up about why she decided to publicly reveal her hookup with Charrisse Jackson-Jordan’s son, Jackson, and says the decision was more calculated than it appeared.
The Real Housewives of Potomac star shared on the What’s the Reality podcast that the secret had been weighing on her for years. “It’s been sitting on me for two years now,” said Ashley. “I was going to take it to my grave.”
Ashley admitted that part of her reasoning was tied to wanting Charrisse back on the show. “I was like, ‘Hey girl, this could be your chance to get back,’” she said, adding that she believed Charrisse had previously given her blessing. “She used to joke about me being her daughter-in-law.”
While Ashley said she feels remorse if Charrisse is genuinely hurt, she drew a line at public criticism. “If you’re going to keep talking bad about my character, then we have another problem,” she said.
Ashley also addressed comments made by former costar Candiace Dillard-Bassett, who suggested the hookup reflected how Ashley was raised.
Ashley said they confronted the issue during filming for The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip. “We talked it out,” Ashley said. “It was very old school us. We can still hug it out after going back and forth.”
Jackson has accused Ashley of using the moment for clout. Fans have slammed Ashley for her actions.
