Ashley Darby is addressing the fallout surrounding comments about her past involvement with the adult son of Charrisse Jackson Jordan, making it clear she stands by her actions and rejecting false narratives.
In a video shared on social media, Darby addressed the criticism that surfaced after the moment aired on The Real Housewives of Potomac.
“I don’t usually come to social media. This is not what I use it for,” she said. “But there’s obviously a lot of discourse about me.”
Darby pushed back on accusations of wrongdoing. “I am a consenting adult who only engages with other consenting adults,” she said. “Consenting adult to consenting adult, always and forever.”
She also appeared to reference Charrisse’s post-season comments, calling out her alleged shift in tone once filming ended. “I find it very odd for people who get all buck when the cameras go down,” Darby said. “Maintain the same energy you had during the season.”
While Darby acknowledged she is open to accountability, she drew a firm line when it came to allegations she says are untrue.
“I can take ownership of something I maybe did wrong,” she said. “What I will not take ownership of is a false rumor or narrative about me.”
“I abide by the law. I respect the law,” Darby continued. “I don’t do anything that violates it, and I’m going to continue that way.”
She concluded by saying she plans to address the issue further on camera. “I’ll be perched and ready at the reunion,” she said.
