The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice and her second husband, Luis Ruelas, have been hit with more than $3 million in tax liens amid reports that their marriage is on the rocks.
According to court records, the beloved reality star owes $303,889 from a lien issued on March 20, while her Luis owes a whopping $2.6 million, bringing their combined total to $3,037,255.
That does not include another $163,524 lien that Teresa’s husband was issued in December 2024, as the case is active.
Teresa and her ex-husband, Joe Giudice, were both sentenced to prison in 2014 for their part in a long-term scheme to defraud banks, the IRS, and bankruptcy court of millions, although Teresa denied having any in-depth knowledge of Joe’s business dealings.
Sources close to Teresa are worried about her as Luis’s dealings don’t appear to be adding up.
“Teresa’s friends are wondering how she could have let this happen,” sources told InTouch Weekly. “Teresa doesn’t seem to be too worried, but her friends are,” the insiders added. “They’re wondering how she could have let this happen.”
Teresa and Luis tied the knot on August 6, 2022, at the Park Chateau Estate & Gardens in New Jersey. The ceremony was attended by 220 guests, including several Bravo personalities, and was filmed for a Bravo special titled “Teresa Gets Married,” aired on May 23, 2023.
