Real Housewives of New Jersey fans are buzzing after Teresa Giudice made a surprising move toward ending her long, bitter feud with her brother Joe Gorga and his wife Melissa.
The family has been at war for years, and things got so bad that the Season 14 reunion didn’t even happen but now insiders say Teresa’s husband, Luis Ruelas, may be the real reason the family finally sat down to talk.
According to a source, Teresa quietly met up with Joe and Melissa to hash things out away from the cameras. The meeting was apparently calm, which is rare for this group, and everyone reportedly left in a decent place.
Insiders claim Luis was the one pushing hardest for the peace summit. A source tells RadarOnline that he wanted Teresa to smooth things over with her brother because the couple has been under serious financial stress.
Luis is said to owe around $2.6 million in state taxes. Teresa allegedly owes about $300,000. With RHONJ on pause, the lack of income has made things even tougher for them.
“Luis is the one who pushed Teresa to ultimately meet with her brother and Melissa,” an insider told the outlet. “It’s no secret given the tax liens that there has been financial pressure on them.”
The source claims Luis thought making things right with Joe and Melissa could boost Teresa’s chances of keeping her spot on RHONJ. He even joined the meeting himself and, according to the insider, has already made up with Joe.
“As evidence, they are now following each other on Instagram,” the source added.
