Shannon Beador is opening up about the night of her DUI and hit-and-run.
There had been reports that Shannon and her then-boyfriend John Janssen had an argument before she got behind the wheel drunk, which Shannon confirms with Bravo’s Hot Mic.
“I got in an argument with John, and so he asked me to leave, and I was angry, and I thought, ‘Well, I’m not going to leave my car here,’ so I got in my car to drive the three blocks,” said Shannon. “I was angry, very angry, and I made a horrible mistake, and I have to tell you — I don’t want to get teary-eyed — it keeps me up at night to think I could have hurt somebody. I’m just so grateful that I didn’t.”
She added, “I made a terrible mistake and I sit back and think, like, ‘Why did this happen?’ But it has forced me to look in and take an inventory of myself and realize what wasn’t working in my life,” she added.
The Orange County Housewife was sentenced to three years probation following her recent DUI hit and run. The reality star will also have to do 40 hours of community service. Shannon agreed to an offer from a judge allowing her to plead no contest to a pair of misdemeanor DUI charges in return for the dismissal of a misdemeanor hit and run charge.
