Beverly Hills Housewife Erika Jayne’s legal woes are far from over, and the reality star is now preparing to head to trial after being accused of spending more than $20 million in embezzled funds.
A federal jury found Erika’s estranged husband, Tom Girardi, guilty of four counts of wire fraud last August. The glamorous blonde was then sued by Girardi’s bankruptcy trustee, Elissa Miller, who claims she knew spent $24 million of the fraudulent funds.
This week, viewers saw Erika react to the guilty verdict.
“It immediately took me back a couple of years when everything was just out of control,” she told producers in a confessional. “My drinking, my medication, it was just all of this pressure. And I thought, ‘Oh, my God. It’s happening again. It’s happening again.’ I literally felt like I was being dragged down, like I was being dragged under the ground.”
In her lawsuit, Miller says Erika Jayne used Girardi’s personal American Express credit cards “to pay for expenses she incurred in pursuit of her entertainment career.
“In addition, the Debtor paid all of the Defendants’ billings/invoices incurred by the Defendants for services obtained or products purchased by Ms Girardi in pursuit of her entertainer/actor/singer/writer career.”
She says the payments were recorded on Girardi’s books and records as advances (loans).
Erika Jayne denies all of the allegations made against her, claiming she, too, was left in the dark.
