‘RHOBH’ Alum Annemarie Wiley Files Defamation Lawsuit Against American Society of Anesthesiologists

Former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Annemarie Wiley has filed a lawsuit for defamation against the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA)…claiming they launched a “smear campaign” against her.

The organization posted on their social media during Annemarie’s time on the show.

“The Real Housewives know a fake … Anesthesiologists are medical doctors with more than 12 years of higher education and up to 16,000 hours of clinical training. Title misappropriation has no place in health care,” the post read.

Annemarie’s cast mate, Crystal Kung-Minkoff, told the Housewives that Annemarie had claimed to be an anesthesiologist when they first met, when she is, in fact, a nurse.

“Let me be clear — my lawsuit is solely about the ASA’s malicious, false, targeted, and defamatory statements about me. I have always proudly, publicly, and consistently stated that I am a CRNA. I have never stated that I am an anesthesiologist or a medical doctor during my time on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills or otherwise,” part of her statement reads.

“This is not a debate over professional titles, despite the ASA’s attempts to now mischaracterize it as such. This is about holding the ASA accountable for its shameful and blatant lies … I trust that the truth will come to light through the proper channels.”

Annemarie appeared on the 13th season of the show but left after an unpopular debut. Annemarie’s relentless interrogations of Sutton Stracke’s medical issues angered viewers, who called for Bravo producers to give her the axe.
