Shamea Morton is trying to clear the air after K. Michelle said she kept hearing that Kandi Burruss did not want her around.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta star opened up to Carlos King about a night out that has since spilled into the show. Shamea said she was with K. Michelle before heading to meet Kandi, but did not ask K. Michelle to come along because of Kandi’s loyalty to Rashida.
When K. Michelle asked where she was going, Shamea said she answered honestly.
“I’m like, ‘I’m meeting with Kandi.’ ‘Why y’all ain’t invite me?’ I’m like, ‘Well, girl, you know,’” Shamea recalled. She said she was not trying to stir up hurt feelings or suggest that Kandi had a major issue with K. Michelle.
“Like, I never said Kandi hates you. She don’t like you,” Shamea said.
Shamea also said she brought it up to Kandi when she arrived. “K wanted to come,” she remembered telling her. Kandi’s response, according to Shamea, was, “Nah, I’m not, you know, you know, I can’t do that. I mean, I like her, but I can’t. Rashida is my girl.”
Shamea said K. Michelle later felt as though she was repeatedly told that Shamea’s friends did not like her.
Kandi also weighed in online, writing, “I’m just trying to live my best life & every other week my name gets dragged into some bulls–t [sad face emoji].”
Shamea has faced backlash from fans, who have accused her of turning K. Michelle against Porsha Williams and Drew Sidora, and creating unnecessary drama, even with a friend of the show, Cynthia Bailey, who has been the peacemaker of the group.
