Shamea Morton has given fans an update about her marriage and the current status of her relationship with Porsha Williams.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member said on Rickey Smiley on the Spot that her husband, Gerald Mwangi, made his feelings about cameras clear during an early production visit.
“[Production] got there. [Gerald] saw them cameras go up,” Shamea recalled. “We looked out the window. Gerald was pulling out the driveway.” She said producers then shifted focus and filmed her family without him.
“And they did. And I guess they felt like [we] are enough without him,” she said. According to Shamea, Gerald may appear from time to time, but he has never wanted to make himself a central figure on the series.
“As far as full-on storyline of me and him, he’s like, ‘that ain’t [me],’” she said.
Even so, she teased that viewers will notice more of him this season.
“I’m really proud of what my husband did this year on the show,” she shared. “He actually filmed a lot more than last year.”
Shamea also addressed the fallout with Porsha Williams, whose friendship with her unraveled last season.
“I wish I had the answer to that question,” she said when asked if they could fully repair things.
“I just know that right now we are able to coexist, and I don’t know what the future holds.”
She later added that no outside attention threatens her marriage, saying, “What God has blessed, nobody can mess up.”
