Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams is celebrating after a judge rejected ex-husband Simon Guobadia’s divorce appeal.
After the ruling, Porsha took to Instagram to share her joy with her fans.
“It’s over!!!!” she wrote via Instagram Stories. “Thank Goodness. Grateful.”
In a follow-up post, she shared a video of her walking onto a private plane, set to “Free,” the 2004 tune by Destiny’s Child. “[kiss emoji] Free …[peace sign emoji],” she captioned the post, along with “Ms265” referencing a viral moment from the Real Housewives of Atlanta.
Simon was quick to see Porsha’s reaction to the ruling, and according to his legal reps, Porsha’s celebration is premature.
We intend to continue pursuing this appeal, as we have not yet exhausted all legal remedies. I anticipate a resolution within approximately 12–24 months, depending on how far the opposition chooses to take the matter,” Simon, who was deported back to Nigeria months back, told PEOPLE.
“In addition, I have a federal defamation case that has yet to be heard, and we are now preparing for the discovery phase at the pace set by the federal court,” he continued.
“I am a very patient man — patience has served me well for over 40 years in both my personal and professional life — and I am confident that I will ultimately prevail,” Simon says. “Stay tuned.”
Simon was previously ordered to pay the reality star $40,000 per month in spousal support for 14 to 15 months and cover her $224,000 in legal fees. He was also ordered to remain on the mortgage and pay the couple’s $7 million home bills for up to 36 months. To make matters worse for Simon, a judge also ordered him to transfer 50% equity in the property to Porsha.
He says he will not pay up.
