Kelli Potter is standing by Shamea Morton after her longtime friend’s bitter feud with Porsha Williams spilled into their families during a cast dinner in Scotland.
During an interview with Carlos King, Kelli said Shamea chose the wrong moment to make the accusations but believes she had been pushed too far.
“Was the setting wrong? Yes,” Kelli said. “But I knew that it was a boiling point.”
The argument began when Shamea asked Porsha why she no longer allowed their daughters to play together. Porsha responded that she did not want her daughter around someone who had an issue with her.
Shamea then accused Porsha’s mother, Diane, of trying to sleep with her father. Porsha responded by claiming Shamea’s mother, Sarah, once pursued her brother-in-law while he was dating Diane.
Cynthia Bailey, Drew Sidora and Angela Oakley later said the women’s mothers should have been left out of the dispute.
Kelli told Carlos that Shamea had never previously shared the allegation with her, leaving her shocked when it surfaced at the table. However, one comment from Porsha caught Kelli’s attention.
“Porsha said, ‘I knew you were going to say that,’” Kelli recalled. “Well, how did you know you were gonna say that?”
Kelli questioned whether Shamea had been deliberately provoked until she disclosed the family story.
“That’s the part that I didn’t like,” she said.
