Seven years ago, Malachi Love-Robinson made headlines when he opened a medical clinic in Florida with family members and examined patients as “Dr. Love.” He was arrested at the time, but later released and heralded as a “hero” by many in the community for his knowledge of medical procedures.
Well, Media Take Out learned that Malachi is heading back to prison after pleading guilty to stealing more than $10,000 from his employer.
Malachi, now 25, was first arrested in 2016 and charged with stealing $30,000 from a patient for an unspecified medical procedure. At the time, he was arrested after he prescribed treatment for an undercover police officer who was impersonating a patient.
The teen was also caught posing as a doctor in a pregnant woman’s exam room in 2015, when he was only 17, at St. Mary’s Medical Center.
He was not sentenced to prison, however, for either incident.
The young man apparently never learned his lesson – and has continued a life of scamming.
Media Take Out obtained court documents show that Malachi was working as a salesperson for a company that connects shippers with trucking companies in 2020. Instead of having customers make payments to the company, Malachi told them to send the money to bank accounts he controlled.
He was arrested and convicted of fraud and was sentenced to 2 years and 4 months in prison last week after pleading guilty to grand theft and organized scheme to defraud in Palm Beach County, Florida.
