Antonio L.A. Reid, cofounder of LaFace Records, has been accused of sexual assault and harassment by former Arista executive Drew Dixon.
Drew filed the lawsuit yesterday in Manhattan’s Federal District Court.
The court docs allege that Reid assaulted her twice during her time at Arista in the early 2000s and that when she turned down his advances, he would make decisions that would negatively impact her career, including blocking her from signing John Legend early on in his career.
“I have an opportunity now to seek some degree of accountability. And that’s really what I’m trying to do,” she said in an interview.
She previously accused the exec of misconduct back in 2017. At the time, Reid denied the allegations.
“I’m proud of my track record promoting, supporting and uplifting women at every company I’ve ever run. That notwithstanding, if I have ever said anything capable of being misinterpreted, I apologize unreservedly,” he said.
